Excel Physical Therapy’s Glen Rock Clinic Director, Robert Egermayer, recently set forth to physically test himself in an unconventional way. Inspired by the legendary Tour de France bike race, Robert decided he would engage in his own cycling challenge – bike to all 24 EXCEL offices in 24 days.
EXCEL’s current geography spans over 10 New Jersey counties so this was no easy feat. While some of EXCEL’s Bergen County offices are 5-mile neighbors of each other, the West Deptford office lies 112 miles away from Robert’s home office.
Despite the overwhelming challenges he would face, Robert was able complete the task in the targeted time frame. He rode over 710 miles over the course of the 24 days, with only 27 wrong turns, 9 detours, and no flat tires!
When asked why he was so motivated to visit all 24 EXCEL offices, Robert explained, “When I partnered with EXCEL I did it to be a part of a team. I want to stay connected to the other members of this team.” While cycling to each location may not be the most efficient of transit choices, we are proud of Robert for prioritizing an interpersonal connection with his distant colleagues.
