Hip Specialty Program
Hip Specialty Program
Advanced hip clinicians providing specialized care
Excel Physical Therapy’s Hip Specialty Program features credentialed Advanced Hip Clinicians with rigorous next-level training and experience. We specialize in the post-surgical and nonsurgical management of hip pathology and pain syndromes.
HIP PAIN AFFECTS PEOPLE OF ALL AGES
While hip pain was traditionally thought to be a condition affecting older people, it’s perhaps surprisingly common in the younger population, as well. Whether due to sports trauma, overuse, regular wear and tear, or arthritis, men and women of all ages can suffer from hip pain. Unfortunately, since the hip is a weight-bearing joint, hip pain can interfere with everyday activities like walking, climbing stairs, or getting up from a seated position. Physical therapy can help minimize your pain, improve strength and range of motion, and regain functional mobility.
- Hip Replacements. EXCEL’s physical therapists work with hip replacement patients day in and day out, giving us firsthand knowledge of the importance of physical therapy in helping post-surgical patients get back to doing the things they love. You may be surprised to learn that hip replacements are becoming more common amongst younger patients. In fact, the CDC reports that between 2000 and 2010, the number of total hip replacements tripled for people ages 55-64 and increased by a significant 205% for those in the 45-54 age group. Regardless of age, our clinicians will work with you to minimize scar tissue, regain strength, and restore mobility.
- Common Injuries & Conditions. In addition to working with hip replacements, our physical therapists also treat hip pain resulting from common injuries and conditions, including bursitis, hip fractures, sports hernia, snapping hip, osteoarthritis, dislocations, rheumatoid arthritis, and inflammation.
SPECIALIZED TRAINING BREEDS BETTER RESULTS
In order to qualify for EXCEL’s in-house Hip Specialty Program, our distinguished physical therapists must have demonstrated a commitment to providing the very best care for patients who are suffering from hip pain and dysfunction.
Our hip specialists pursue rigorous continuing education, including attaining credentials as Advanced Hip Clinicians. In addition, we work with the area’s best physicians, surgeons, and rehabilitation experts to set up in-house seminars where our therapists can learn about new procedures, cutting edge techniques, and emerging rehab protocols and best practices.
Our Hip Specialty Program also acts as an in-house think tank where clinicians can collaborate on particularly difficult or complex cases, ensuring that every patient receives the benefit of the best, most advanced knowledge that EXCEL has to offer.
No prescription? No problem.
You can start physical therapy without a prescription or referral from a doctor, through a program called "Direct Access." Even better, it's usually covered by insurance. Give us a call, we're happy to check your coverage for you.
