Elizabeth “Liz” Kerrigan graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. After graduating college she returned home to Franklin Lakes, NJ where she began working as a PT aide for Excel Physical Therapy in order to gain experience in the profession while applying to graduate school. She then received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Marymount University in Arlington, VA.

Throughout her career she has worked in both outpatient and home care settings specializing in neurological and orthopedic rehabilitation and is certified in the LSVT BIG program which focuses on treating patients with Parkinson’s Disease.

Liz’s affinity for sports and athletics began at a young age while participating in both recreational and club sports. She also grew up skiing/snowboarding in the winter and wake boarding in the summer with her family. She played varsity soccer at Immaculate Heart Academy high school and continued to play club soccer throughout college and participated in several adult leagues after college.

Liz currently remains active by doing yoga, playing tennis, hiking with her dog, Ross, and chasing around her little niece and nephew. Her unique patient-centric approach to rehabilitation is enriched by her diverse clinical and athletic background, emphasizing functional movement, injury prevention, and performance optimization. Liz is thrilled to say her PT career has come full circle and brought her back to where she started at Excel Physical Therapy.
